People, Retention & Workforce Advisory
Ongoing, defined advisory support for organisations that want senior external perspective, implementation accountability and practical support after a diagnostic, workshop or strategy engagement. This service is initially available to selected existing clients.
Indicative fees from £1,200 monthly
The problem
The hardest part of any retention project is what happens after it ends. The diagnostic is delivered, the strategy is agreed, the workshop lands well. And then the day job returns. Actions slip, ownership blurs and momentum quietly stalls.
Most small and medium organisations do not need, and cannot justify, a permanent retention specialist. What they need is defined, senior support at a sensible rhythm: someone to review progress, hold agreed actions to account and bring an external perspective to people decisions as they arise.
Advisory support is designed to provide that continuity. It is deliberately limited: available to selected existing clients following a diagnostic, workshop or strategy engagement, so the advice is grounded in your evidence and context rather than starting from scratch.

How it works
Enquiry
Existing clients raise advisory support towards the end of an engagement, or through a short enquiry form.
Scoping conversation
We agree what support would genuinely help: days per month, meeting rhythm and the actions or decisions you want covered.
Defined agreement
You receive a clear proposal defining days or hours, meeting limits, response times and deliverables, with a confirmed monthly or quarterly fee.
Ongoing support
Agreed advisory meetings or consulting days: reviewing retention actions and workforce insight, supporting decisions and preparing for leadership or governance meetings.

The arrangement is reviewed after three months and renewed only where it is clearly producing value.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is included?
Everything is defined up front: agreed advisory meetings or consulting days, review of retention actions and workforce insight, leadership advice and decision support, preparation for agreed leadership or governance meetings, and implementation accountability with progress reviews. Your agreement sets out the days or hours, meeting limits, response times and deliverables, so both sides know exactly what the arrangement covers.
What is not included?
Advisory support is defined rather than open-ended. It does not include unlimited messaging, urgent turnaround or major project work. Where a larger piece of work emerges, it is scoped and agreed separately so the advisory arrangement stays focused and sustainable.
How does advisory support start?
It follows a diagnostic, workshop or strategy engagement, and is usually discussed towards the end of that work, so the support builds on evidence and context that already exist. From there, a short scoping conversation leads to a defined agreement covering days, rhythm and deliverables.
We have not worked with Ruth before. Can we still enquire?
You are welcome to enquire, though advisory support is initially available to selected existing clients. For most organisations the natural starting point is the Retention & Culture Diagnostic, a workshop or a Retention Strategy Sprint, after which advisory support becomes a straightforward next step.
What happens after the first three months?
The arrangement is formally reviewed. If it is clearly producing value it is renewed, and the days, rhythm or focus can be adjusted at that point. If it is not, it ends. There is no assumption of indefinite renewal on either side.
Can we change the level of support over time?
Yes. Organisations often need more support in the early months of implementation and less once ownership is embedded. Moving between one day per month, two days per month or the quarterly package is agreed at review points, so the arrangement continues to match what your organisation actually needs.
